About the Foundation

A Foundation that is also a technology company. Civic infrastructure, not charity.

SocioApps Foundation builds and operates three apps — SecureMe, Chakshu, Sevarthi — on a shared volunteer pool. We are engineers who refused to look away. We do not ask for donations. We ask people to become part of the network.

What the Foundation does

Four functions, one house.

We design.

With the people closest to the moment — women commuting late, parents searching, NGO field staff — and never around an abstract user persona.

We build.

Working software, on rate-limited infra, with public status. No pitch-deck theatre. Every app has a codebase, a build status, and a named first user.

We operate.

Charity-tech that ships and then disappears is worse than no software. The Foundation commits to running each app as long as people depend on it.

We disclose.

Build status, partner list, design decisions, deletions of identifiable data — all public. If we change course, we update the site rather than burying the old version.

“After national and international awards, I thought again — at every traffic light, a kid begging may be missing. So Chakshu was born. And I realised: I want to give but the money goes to a gang. So Sevarthi was born. We needed an organisation to hold these together. SocioApps.”

The team

Small team. Long horizon.

Ashish Sharma

Founder

Two decades building product studios in India. Started SecureMe after the December 2012 Delhi bus attack on the conviction that masses, not call centres, are the deterrent force. Built Chakshu and Sevarthi from the same conviction.

Co-founder, advisory, and partnership announcements will be added here as they are confirmed. We will not list anyone who has not signed.
