App 01 / Women's safety

Be the help when she presses panic.

Most safety apps tell her father. By the time her father knows, it has already happened. SecureMe alerts the helping hands within 5 km of her instead — verified, signed, witnessed.

The problem today

The gap between what is reported and what actually happens.

The numbers below describe the same population, measured two different ways. The difference between them is the under-reporting story SecureMe is built to interrupt.

~83,000

women reported stalking, sexual harassment, or assault to outrage modesty in 2023 (IPC 354A–D) — public-space crimes where bystander activation is the missing layer SecureMe is built to add.

133.6

crimes against women per lakh of female population in Delhi — the highest in India. Telangana 124.9. Rajasthan 114.8. National average 66.2.

85,310

women kidnapped or abducted in India in 2023 — by IPC definition a public-place or transit-route crime, the precise window where SecureMe's 5 km verified-volunteer ping is built to act.

The mechanism

Three steps. Under five seconds. No call centre.

  1. 01

    She presses panic.

One press on the SecureMe wristband, or a hold on the app's SOS. A signed alert leaves the device in under 800 ms.

  2. 02

    The 5-km network wakes.

Verified volunteers within a 5 km radius receive a directional ping. The closest three to five are asked to confirm physical presence.

  3. 03

    Witnesses, not call centres.

Trusted contacts get a live location stream. Local police get a verified incident bundle. The recording stops the moment she marks herself safe.

“Most safety apps tell your father. By the time your father knows, it is already happening. SecureMe tells the 5,000 helping hands within 5 km of you instead.”

The SecureMe positioning

December 2012 was the catalyst. The mechanism is the answer.
